Useful Ideas

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Here are some useful ideas I would like to share with all of you:
1. Prone to yeast infection? Females prone to yeast infection should consume lots of garlic and yogurt daily. Garlic is considered as herbal medicine and is quite effective in fighting any kinds of infections just like yeast infection. Yogurt has billions of live microorganisms that help various kinds of infections from the body. Eating your way out of yeast infection is better than buying expensive suppositories and antibiotics.

2. Need ideas for shoe storage? If you are low on floor space, why not use a under bed shoe storage to utilize that wasted space beneath your bed. You can also try putting up over door shoe storage and station them behind you bedroom or closet door. Both of these shoe storage units are space saving and inexpensive. Shop for best price online and in stores.

3. Got a huge garden? Save up on water bills when water your garden by using rain water barrel. Use the rain water barrel to catch rain water every time it rains. Use the collected rain water to water all your plants in the garden when it is not raining. This way, you can save a lot on water bills.

House Hunting

Mavis is looking for a house. She has finally saved enough money to buy one. Mavis has been saving all her money since she was 18. Now that she’s 32, she will finally make her dream come true.

After a numerous house go-sees, Mavis has liked one particular house. It was formerly owned by a nice couple who had no kids. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; it was the perfect size for Mavis. The kitchen was designed with bricks and mosaic tiles and the effect is lovely. Also, the kitchen lights that the couple put up were antique and beautiful. The living room was quaint and lovely. There was a huge space for the TV and other appliances.

The backyard was full of thriving plants and flowers. There was even an old tire swing tied to a tree. Mavis got on the swing and just felt the breeze on her face. She really wanted to buy the house. She has made up her mind. She will talk to the agent as well as the couple to draw up the papers as soon as possible. She will finally have a place to call her own.
Walking around the house, Mavis loved it more. It was perfect.

Mrs. Filch

Ken was doing odd jobs around the neighbourhood. He wants to earn enough money to buy himself a portable video game player. He has been knocking on every one of his neighbour’s doors asking if he can mow their lawns, sweep their yards, clean their pools or remove weeds from their gardens.

One day, Ken found himself in front of Mrs. Filch’s door. He does not know Mrs. Filch that well, unlike his other neighbours. Mrs. Filch seldom comes out of her house and she does not welcome that much visitors.

Ken thought against knocking on Mrs.Filch’s door. It was crazy but he seems afraid of Mrs. Filch. But he really does need the money. Bracing himself, Ken knocked twice and waited. Five minutes later, Ken was still outside the house. It seems no one was home.
Ken was about to leave when suddenly Mrs. Filch’s front door opened. Mrs Filch was a huge woman but very frail looking. Ken introduced himself before asking if Mrs. Filch had any job for him.

A few hours later, Ken emerged from Mrs. Filch’s house full and teary-eyed. Mrs. Filch “hired” Ken to sit and chat with her near the out door fireplace while enjoying wonderful pastries she made.

Next in Line

I just came from my two week long trip in Hawaii and I am feeling a bit sad. I was enjoying my stay on the islands that I sort of dreaded coming back to the life full of stress and pressures. While in Hawaii, I sunbathed until I was brown, sipped pina colada to my heart’s content and swam in various beaches until my joints ached.

Now that I am back to reality, it is time to plan my next vacation adventure. I am torn between whitewater rafting trips or backpacking in Europe. But I also would want to spend a few days of my vacation at home. I need to make some minor repairs and home improvement projects.

Now that I think about it, I would also love to visit my parents and my grandparents as well. They have been complaining about how I don’t visit them as often. It would be really nice to surprise them with a visit. Maybe I could even get Grandma to cook her wonderful tamales for me. Yummy!

With all of my trips planned, I need to save more money so that I can truly enjoy my vacations. Penny pinching is indeed a talent.
